The Tidal Creek Community Center is located upstairs from Tidal Creek Co-op at 5329 Oleander Drive, Suite 204 in Wilmington, North Carolina. There are two rooms available for rent. Our Community Center can seat up to 30 people comfortably. This space is open and with pleanty of natural light. Our second room, the Conference Room, is appropriate for private meetings and can seat up to 12 people . Tables and chairs are available for use, as are electrical outlets. Additional presentations tools and materials are also available, some with a fee, and are listed below. The tables can be moved into various shapes to suit the meeting and facilitators needs. Light refreshments or catering from the Tidal Creek Café is also available for a fee, but must be requested in advance. First Steps
1) Room Sign-Up
Co-op events are given first priority for use of the room. Other community groups can reserve the room by first filling out a reservation request. Upon approval, a signed users agreement and payment for the time reserved is mailed or dropped by the store. The room is officially reserved only when the Co-op has returned, to the user, a copy of the signed user agreement marked “PAID”. The community room is available for profit use, i.e. paid classes or lectures. Classes charging a reasonable materials fee or donations are acceptable also.
2) Times Available
Based on previously blocked times, the Tidal Creek Community Center is available for reservations Monday thru Friday 5pm-7:45pm* and Saturday, Sunday 8am-7:45pm.
*Note: Exceptions can be made for reservations Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm
3) Room Rental Fees
A use fee, payable only in advance, of $20 for each hour is charged to groups without a budget and who are members of the co-op. Groups with a budget that are not members of the co-op will be charged a use fee of $25 for each hour. The charge can be prorated for less than an hours use.
4) Parking
Persons attending meetings in the Tidal Creek Community Center are asked to use the overflow lot located at the near side of the UNCW/Cinema 6 lot when available. Tidal Creek Co-op reserves the right to ask any user to leave if, in the opinion of the Co-op’s manager on duty, the user’s activities pose a threat to the safety of co-op members or shoppers or are in violation of the law.
What to Expect
After the room request is approved the group’s contact person will receive a packet that includes a user’s agreement, request for amenities and a selection of floor plans to choose from. Once all paperwork is processed the group’s contact person can expect a confirmation call. The day of the event the room will be arranged to accommodate the group size, per chosen floor plan. Amenities will be set up in a user friendly display. The café is also available for ‘meals on your own’ situations. The Tidal Creek Manager on Duty will be available for questions and assistance.
