The Co-op partnered with Surfrider, UNCW and the City of Wilmington, in the spring of 2014, to install an “Ocean Friendly Rain Garden” on our property. The garden reduces rain runoff by allowing stormwater to soak into the ground, as opposed to flowing into storm drains and surface waters which causes erosion, water pollution, flooding, and diminished groundwater. The filtering process improves water quality in nearby bodies of water around our community.
