TIDAL CREEK CO-OP TO DONATE 100% OF PROFIT FROM REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER SALES FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF AN RO FILTRATION MACHINE IN DOWNTOWN WILMINGTON

We’re kicking off an effort to install a reverse osmosis water filtration machine at DREAMS of Wilmington, a community center in the northern area of downtown Wilmington, NC.  Starting today, 100% of the profit from our RO bulk water sales will go towards the estimated $9000 required to purchase and install the system. Additional plans are in the works for partnerships with other organizations and fundraising events to help us reach this goal as quickly as possible.

We believe that clean and safe drinking water is a right to which everyone should have access. At this time, our resources indicate that the multi-stage filtration system of reverse osmosis (which includes a carbon filter) effectively removes Gen X and other toxic chemicals from municipal tap water. A bulk water dispenser allows for reusable containers to be filled, reducing single-use plastic waste and lowering the cost per gallon.

Our goal is to provide DREAMS of Wilmington with a sustainable, affordable, and permanent access point to safe drinking water in a densely populated section of our downtown community. Our hope is to inspire water authorities, civic leaders, and business owners to take similar action in making safe water available to the entire Wilmington population.

Tidal Creek Co-op has been serving Wilmington by providing healthy and natural products for 35 years. As a consumer-owned cooperative, one of our guiding principles is Concern for the Community. We feel it is our responsibility to help make safe water available to everyone. We have been inspired and empowered by the way our community has come together to address this water crisis, and we are excited to move forward in making non-toxic water a right rather than a privilege.
