Fall is upon us, and what better way to make the most of the bounty that the harvest produces than with some delicious smoothies! Smoothies are not only awesome tasting; they are also a great way to gain a lot of nutrition with relatively little effort. Smoothies are quick, easy, and can even replace a meal when youÕre on the go!
WhatÕs more, fall fruits and vegetables are absolutely packed full of nutrients and tastes that only come around once a year! So without further adieu, here are 5 smoothie recipes that you are guaranteed to ÒfallÓ in love withÉ
1. Pumpkin Cheesecake Breakfast Smoothie
What would fall be without a pumpkin frappe? You will be off to a great start to the fall season with this smoothie recipe.
Ingredients

1 cup milk of choice

_ cup chilled pumpkin puree

1 small peeled and frozen, well-ripened banana

_ cup quick oats
-
1 oz cream cheese, regular or low-fat

_ tsp pumpkin pie spice

1 Tbsp crushed graham crackers (optional)
Add all ingredients the ingredients to a blender, except for the graham crackers. Blend until pureed and then serve with a crushed graham crackers topping (if you choose to use it).
2. Cinnamon Apple Spice Smoothie
Cinnamon is very nearly a wonder spice and has no limits to its uses when it comes to cooking, baking, or even blending! Beware, your kitchen may smell irresistibly like the holidays after making this smoothie.
Ingredients
¥ 1 (6 ounce) container Greek yogurt
¥ 1 medium apple, cut
¥ 2 teaspoons cinnamon
¥ 1 packet (or 1 Tbsp) Splenda
¥ Ice
Blend until pureed. Enjoy the cinnamon-y goodness that follows.
3. Cranberry Pear Smoothie
One of the best smoothies for fall! Cranberries are a little bitter, but they are also very rich in a variety of antioxidants. Adding dates to this smoothie allows you to add sweetness without the the use of other high-calorie sweeteners such as honey or maple syrup, while also cancelling out the bitterness of the cranberry.

1 cup frozen cranberries

2 medjool dates, pitted

1 pear

1 cup milk of choice

_ teaspoon vanilla

Put all of the ingredients into a blender and hit frappe. If you feel that the smoothie is not thick enough, you can add a few ice cubes to it.
4. Apple Pie Chia Smoothie
Will we ever run out of uses for the apple? With so many varieties and an abundance of fresh, local produce in Wilmington, it does not seem possible. This smoothie will actually taste like apple pie, so you can save yourself a lot of calories drinking this instead of the real thing!

Pinch of nutmeg and salt
Blend all the ingredients, and if you want it to be thicker, just add 2-3 cubes of ice.
5. Carrot Cake Smoothie
How about a smoothie that tastes like dessert? This carrot cake smoothie tastes just as good as it looks and its orange color rhymes perfectly with the season!

3 tablespoons softened raisins

1 cup milk of choice

1 cup peeled, chopped carrot

1 banana, preferably frozen

In a small bowl, soak raisins for 5 minutes in the hottest tap water to soften. Then place all ingredients into blender and blend until completely smooth. Serve and enjoy.
