Hug a Baby Goat!Maybe you already know that goats are some of the most amazing animals on the planet, but maybe you don’t. If you are someone who has yet to become acquainted with the many interesting and appealing facts about goats, you have a rare opportunity to learn more about them in the perfect setting. Where might that be? At one of the best goat farms near Wilmington of course, and one where baby goats have just arrived!

Visit a Goat Farm and See Some Amazing Creatures

Though adult goats are charming, good natured, and cute, their babies (known as “kids”) are somehow even cuter. Once again, we are hosting a tour of a local farm, Nature’s Way Farm (Home of the Happy Goats), in order to let you experience the genuine appeal of happy farm goats for yourself, but also to see how beneficial this type of farming actually is to the local community as well.

The Nature’s Way farm is actually an award-winning location, among the farms near Wilmington recognized for its high quality dairy goat cheeses. They also use the milk to make high quality soaps, and you can see for yourself that part of their “formula” for success is in the raising of extremely happy and healthy goats.

Happy Goats Make a Healthier World

GoatsÕ milk is often used a substitute for orphaned animals and humans with sensitivity or allergy to cow’s milk, which proves that it is a healthier food in general. However, when you see how the farm’s owners, Bill and Tina Moller, treat the goats as individuals rather than simple milk machines, you’ll begin to understand why their goatsÕ milk products are so superior.

Of course, one of the main reasons to visit the “Home of the Happy Goats” is to see all of those kids. Springtime is their season and last year’s attendees had loads of fun touring the farm, watching cheese making demonstrations, and feeding the goats. It was playtime with the kids, though, that really made the day.

Not only is this a great thing to do with your own children, but something that anyone interested in local foods and beneficial local farming will want to experience for themselves. There is a huge difference between a family farm and a factory farm, and everyone who takes the tour sees just how happy the goats of Nature’s Way Farm are, and how this makes such a huge difference in the quality of the milk and cheese they provide.

Building a Community

While having a great time, seeing one of the best family farms near Wilmington, and goofing around with a bunch of newborn kids (baby goats, that is) will be an unforgettable experience, it is your support of a local farm where you can really make an impact.

While factory farmed foods are always cheaper in price, they are also much more costly in terms of the environmental damages and the unhappy and unhealthy lives of the animals used in those factories. You can play a part in combating this unhealthy system by supporting farms like Nature’s Way, and all that they are trying to do to improve the local economy and the lives of the animals at the farm.

All local farmers are really the foundation of a healthier and stronger community. Supporting them is really doing the best for the local economy and the local environment. So, come with us for a visit, purchase some fresh goats milk or cheese, feed those happy goats, and laugh at the antics of those adorable babiesÉyou’ll do yourself and the community a lot of good.

Happy goats make delicious milk and cheese, and you can see this for yourself when you participate in the Tidal Creek tour of Nature’s Way Farm on Saturday, April 11th (2:00-4:00 PM) in Hampstead, NC! Further details here!
