National Co-op Month
In honor of all the wonderful things that differentiate the cooperative business model, October has been declared National Co-op Month! It gives nods to the more than 29,000 Co-ops across the country, from natural food stores, to banks, manufacturers and everything in between. Co-op’s like Tidal Creek are locally owned, trusted and dedicated to serving you and the community. Look for stories and information all month on what makes Co-op’s such a special place. Tidal Creek is proud to be part of the Non-GMO Project, celebrating Non-GMO month this October. The Non-GMO Project was created for consumers. We believe that everyone has the right to an informed choice about what they eat. Interested in learning more about GMOs? Interested in getting involved? World Food Day
Food Day is a nationwide celebration and a movement toward more healthy, affordable, and sustainable food culminating in a day of action on October 24 every year. This year Tidal Creek is excited to be involved in the World Food Day festivities, sponsored by Feast Down East on the UNCW Campus. Fair Trade Month
October is Fair Trade Month. Throughout the month, ethically-minded consumers, retailers and brands will unite to celebrate and promote Fair Trade. A variety of education events, in-store sampling programs and online initiatives have been planned to help increase awareness and sales of Fair Trade Certified products, ultimately leading to greater impact for farmers and workers in developing countries.
