DANIELLE RICHARDET
Meet Danielle Richardet and learn more about how she would like to help make a difference in our community!
Are you an Owner?
Absolutely!
How often do you shop at the Co-op?
2x a weekÉ sometimes more
Have you ever volunteered or worked at the Co-op?
I volunteer! I have helped at events, bagged groceries during Owner Appreciation Weekend, Instagram and IÕm always up to helping Tidal Creek in anyway that I can!
Do you have any experience sitting on a Board of Directors?
I am a current member of the Tidal Creek Board of Directors. (thanks to all who voted and gave me the opportunity).
What unique skills or perspective do you feel you would bring to the Board?
I do strive to use a minimal amount of plastic, so from my perspective I immediately notice opportunities to help create less waste and in turn save $$. I am an avid user of social media and therefore feel comfortable using those various outlets in ways to benefit our Co-op. I am also very engaged and active in our local community and enjoy being part of a team.
What is your reason or motivation to run for the Board of Directors?
IÕve been a member of the BOD for the past year. I feel that a year just wasnÕt enough time for me. ThereÕs more that needs to be done to help create positive changes at our co-op and I want to have a longer opportunity to be an effective contributing board member. I want to make a difference.
What makes Tidal Creek Coop Important to you?
When I first began shopping at Tidal Creek (somewhere around 11 years ago), I was primarily shopping organic. My personal shopping needs have grown to seeking out local foods and living with less plastic. Striving to buy foods not packaged in plastic can be difficult, but Tidal Creek has always been extremely helpful and accommodating to my needs. AndÉ to be honest, when IÕm at Tidal CreekÉ I just feel like IÕm home.
Are you able to donate the time necessary to be an effective Board member?
Of course!
What else would you like Tidal Creek Co-op Owners to know about you?
I am a mother of 3, an activist, and environmental blogger who is passionate about the difference one person can make. I focus on reducing my impact on our environment by refusing single-use plastics, buying local, gardening, preserving (I love to pickleÉ especially jalapeos!), and connecting with our local community. I also do beach cleanups. To date, I have done 253 beach cleanups having removed over 388 lbs of litter and 58,169 cigarette butts from Wrightsville Beach. IÕve set a goal to do 365 beach cleanups (but itÕll probably be more)!
Good luck Danielle!
