Dear Tidal Creek Owners, shoppers, friends, and family,
We are writing to inform you of a change, instituted by the Board of Directors, in the General Manager position at our store. As of Friday, February 3rd, the store will be co-managed by Krista Jorgensen and Anthony Garguilo, two long-time Tidal Creek veterans with a combined 20+ years of experience at our Co-op. Krista, our finance manager brings the wisdom and experience from the days of the Wrightsville Avenue store in the 90’s and early 2000’s, when Tidal Creek was as much of a family and community as it was a grocery store. Anthony, who has been with Tidal Creek since 2004, both as a former Board Member of 11 years and worker for the past 12, has been responsible for the supervision and hiring of several turns of Tidal Creek Managers, and the experience of working effectively with a Board of Directors and Co-op Ownership.
We also wanted to inform you that the Co-op has signed a new lease for 2 years at our current location, and that is our full intention to return our Oleander Drive store to profitability and sustainability. To this end, we have enlisted the help of the nationally recognized experts at National Co-op Grocer, a network of all the co-ops in the country, to assist us in making our store even more successful, sustainable, and affordable with a better selection of fresh, organic, and local foods, and the best customer service in Wilmington, bar none. If nothing else, we love our Co-op and our community, and will do whatever it takes to provide you with a store we will be proud to call OURS!
Don’t take our word for it. Come see us and let us prove it to you. The General Manager’s door is open again, and we’d love to hear your thoughts, ideas, suggestions, and yes, criticisms. It is YOUR store, and you have a right to be heard! These changes will not come overnight, but already there is an excitement in the air at the store, and we have been seeing a lot of faces we have not seen in far too long.
