It’s that time of year again! There are four available seats on our Board of Directors, and we are seeking qualified, passionate candidates to help guide Tidal Creek’s future!
If you care about Tidal Creek Co-op, our role in Wilmington’s local food community, and staying successful in a challenging business environment, you should consider running for the Board of Directors. The continued success and health of a Co-op depends on a strong, knowledgeable board. Board members must be available to attend monthly Board meetings (usually on the first Monday evening of each month) and willing to work cooperatively and enthusiastically within the Tidal Creek Co-op framework.
What is the Board of Directors?
The Board of Directors of is a group of nine Co-op Owners elected by the general ownership in annual elections. This year, we have four seats available.
What are the functions of the Board?
- Represent Tidal Creek Owners
- Establish and work within cooperative policies
- Hire and oversee the General Manager
- Responsible for acquisition and preservation of Co-op assets
- Preserve the cooperative character of the organization
- Assess the Co-opÕs performance
- Inform members
Who can run for a seat on the Board? Who can vote?
Any owner who has paid their equity share for the year by September 1st can vote and run in the election.
